Southwest Florida International Airport

Client: Southwest Florida International Airport

Location: Fort Myers, Florida

Under an ongoing enterprise GIS program supporting both Southwest Florida International Airport (SWFIA) and Page Field in Ft. Myers, Florida, DMJM Aviation integrated three existing geospatial applications into an ESRI ArcIMS and Oracle 10g relational database framework. The existing applications include a GIS-based electronic operations log, a GIS-based maintenance work order system, and a GIS-based lease management application. DMJM Aviation has integrated the lease management application database with an Oracle-based PropWORKS® system already in place—allowing airport management and staff to visualize lease information throughout the airport and its associated buildings.

The maintenance management application is designed to provide simple, map-based work order routing and tracking functionality to all airport staff and some contractors. The operations log application supports a variety of incident reporting and inspections functionality including Part-139 airfield inspections, noise complaints, tenant complaints, loss of property, fuel/chemical spills, diverted aircraft, etc. Recently, DMJM Aviation also began implementation of a web-enabled project reporting system and a web-enabled documentation and drawing management system.
