Airport IT encompasses a myriad of systems that can be organized into the following seven categories:
- Airport IT and communications systems
- Airline and airside operations systems
- Airport landside operations systems
- Airport safety and security systems
- Airport facilities maintenance systems
- Airport development systems
- Airport administration systems
The various airport systems should only be integrated as needed, to reduce cost and increase safety. Integration can be achieved via web-enabled information hub portals and shared databases for airport operations management, enterprise documentation management, airport spatial asset management, etc.
