PM Services for Air Terminal Redevelopment Program
DMJM Aviation provided planning and program management services for the comprehensive expansion and redevelopment of the terminal, airside, and landside facilities at Edmonton International Airport under the Air Terminal Redevelopment Program (ATR).
The ATR more than doubles the facility’s passenger handling capacity. Construction of the first three phases of the ATR is now complete. Phase IV is currently underway and involves renovation of the North Terminal.
Key project facts
-
ATR Phase I added an 1800-stall, four-level, covered parkade with enclosed pedways leading to the new terminal
-
The parkade was designed and constructed within an eight-month timeframe for $500,000 less than the original estimate of $19 million
-
ATR Phase II—completed on time and within budget—added a new South Terminal for domestic and international flights
-
ATR Phase III involved integration of the original and new terminal buildings via an architecturally significant central hall
-
DMJM Aviation also studied renovation and expansion alternatives to facilitate the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) 100 percent EDS screening mandate and developed in-line screening strategies for domestic, international, and transborder baggage make-up areas
