Trusting and Cooperative Relationships
Program and Construction Management
DMJM Aviation’s history in airport program and construction management (PM/CM) began with a $400 million capital expansion program at Charlotte International in the late 1970s (and extending through the early 1990s), at the beginning of airline deregulation and the creation of the hub and spoke system.
Since those early years, we have established ourselves as a successful PM/CM consultant at seven of the ten largest airports in the nation.
In each case, we have implemented programs in a timely manner while minimizing costs and meeting rapidly changing demands on facilities. In many instances, our implementation planning efforts have revealed positive economic impacts in the region and minimized the risk of potential loss in revenue to competing airports.
Key to our success has been our ability to cultivate trusting and cooperative relationships between the airport and our PM/CM team, to infuse new programs with world-wide PM/CM experiences and lessons learned, and to adapt to changing airport and industry conditions.
Typical assignments take place in an active airport environment. Our programs at JFK, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington National have involved rebuilding facilities within their footprints. In each case, we developed an implementation plan that has allowed construction to proceed with minimal impact to airport operations.
